Students studied composition, how to draw contour lines of a still life, how to use value to create the illusion of depth. Used the work of Romare Bearden as inspiration. VA Standard 6-5: Creates a series of artworks that is concerned with design and composition (Structuralism/ Formalism). Materials: torn or cut magazines, glue and paper 16 x 22 in.

Students use uniform pieces of paper to create a composition with unity, rhythm, and shapes. Students also planned imagery to reflect a personal story.
