My Story

I am a graphic designer, a maker and an educator. I actively produce graphic designs for clients and have been for over 20 years. I am a natural Facilitator, preferring action over the mundane for my participants. Teaching art for me is a natural extension of my craft. Since 2001 I have been creating my own Discipline Based Art (DBAE) curriculum for all ages of children in a variety of settings - public and private secondary schools to post- baccalaureate. My experience includes teaching graphic design and information design at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA and teaching drawing and painting at Towson University in Maryland. I’ve been a Keynote Speaker on topics of art and culture, and the President of the Organization of Black Designers where I was able to flex my advocacy and administration muscles on behalf of other artists and designers. I also tell stories on stage with The MOTH and in 2021 was invited to participate in a Virtual Story Slam to share my passion for storytelling. I was born and raised in Princeton N.J., I earned a BFA in Graphic Design, from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and in 2006 I received an MA in Community Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD.
